Nano Nagle (1718-1784) was the founder of the Presentation Sisters and devoted her life to the education of the poor in her hometown of Cork, Ireland. Carrying a lantern through the dark streets, she visited the needy, offering hope and compassion. This museum uses video and interactive displays to tell the story of Nano Nagle and how she defied the penal laws to open schools for poor Catholic children across the city. Discover 18th-century Cork, Nano’s life and work, and the story of the Presentation Sisters who have continued Nano’s mission of empowerment and education down to the present day.
